Follow Janie ...

DanceMind blog began in September 2007. After much consideration and several interviews, I selected a preprofessional ballet dancer to blog with me. My intention was to create an environment where she could communicate freely on her experiences in the world of dance, mainly ballet.

I also decided that this dancer would be anonymous. She named herself "Janie" after Janie Taylor who is a member of the New York City Ballet.

"Janie" and I dialogue back and forth a few times a week. I have given her free range to blog about her experiences, viewpoints, feelings, and thoughts. Her life as a ballet dancer is revealed on the posts.

Currently, "Janie' has accepted a position in a foreign country as a 'paid' professional ballet dancer. Read the passages. She will amaze you with her strength and determination.
