Class participants receive 2 weeks of continued email support. Here is an example:
#1. When we think, read, watch TV and compute while eating, we lose awareness of the eating experience. Thinking and awareness cannot be experienced simultaneously. One diminishes while the other increases. Yes, it is subtle, but if you go back and forth, you'll know. Try it. It is good to know why we might just be less satisfied after a meal or snack. #2. Today, spend a moment looking at a food you are about to eat. Where did it come from? What color is it? What is its texture? How is it prepared? Realize all you can about it. (12/29/09) RETURN TO GF
#3 Your eyes override messages from the body about hunger. SEE food - and you will most likely eat it. You do not have to re-act by reaching. Notice and accept what body and mind is doing and wants to do. 1. Cut portions BEFORE you place food on your plate. Use a smaller plate. 2. Look away from the dessert tray. (12/31/09) RETURN TO GF
